Chashao Recipe

ChashaoPork marinated and cooked in oven.

Ingredients:

  • 800 grams pork shoulder, cut into strips 8 inch long and 3 inch thick
  • 6 tablespoons Hoisin Sauce
  • 6 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons Rice Wine
  • 4 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Five Spice Powder

Instructions:

  • Mix the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine, honey and five spice powder together into a marinade.
  • Take a container and put the pork strips in a snigle layer. Pour over the marinade. Cover the container and leave it in the fridge overnight.
  • Heat the oven ar 400°. Prepare a baking sheet with not stick paper. Put the pork on the baking sheet and cook for around 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Take out the pork from the oven and brush it with some honey.
  • Let it cool a bit and serve.
