Leche Flan Recipe

Leche Flan Filipino FoodLeche Flan is a cake with caramel on top of it.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Egg Yolks
  • 1 cup Evaporated Milk
  • 1 can Condensed Milk
  • 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Water

Instructions:

  • Take a sauce pan and bring it to boil. Add sugar and water and wait a few minutes untiil the sugar caramelize.
  • Pour the caramelized sugar into aluminum moulds. Spread the caramel on the bottom of the moulds.
  • Add the evaporated milk, condensed milk, egg yolks and vanilla to a blender and mix.
  • Gently pour the mixture on top of the caramel on the aluminum moulds. Fill the moulds to about 1 to 1 1/4 inch thick.
  • Cover the moulds with aluminum foil,
  • Steam until it is done, about 30 minutes. Put it in the refrigirator to cool.
  • When serving run a thin knife around the edges of the mould to loosen up. Then quickly turn it upside down so that the caramel is on top.
